On our way to Stirling Castle !
First stop at the Bonawe Iron Furnace. Although there's not much left of it, if you take the time to read everything then it is quite interesting to know that even in the middle of the highlands, there was heavy industry. The reason for this was that it was much cheaper to transport the iron ore towards the highlands, then it was to transport wood (which was needed as fuel for heating the iron ore) towards the lower parts of the country.
